My name is Andrea Huspeni, and I am a graduate student at NYU’s Business and Economic Reporting Program.

Coming from a business background, I hold an undergraduate degree in marketing from Arizona State University. After graduation, I embarked on an adventure in Los Angeles where I was a sales representative for various designer lines. Inspired by many clients, I decided to pack up my bags, head back to Minnesota, and launch an online clothing store.

When the economy took a turn for the worse, I had to close the doors to my online clothing store after five years.

Before heading to New York, I worked in the marketing department at Haagen-Dazs Shoppe Company.

Making the transition into journalism, I am very interested in learning about various topics: entrepreneurs, retail market, social media, the pet industry, and possibly entertainment. I realize the diversity in subjects, but I am hoping over the next year-and-a-half I’ll be able to have my focus down to one.

In the meantime, enjoy Outside the Box, which covers entrepreneurs with a broad stroke. The blog will examine start-ups, tools for entrepreneurs, profiles, strategies, news,  and any other relevant information I see fit.
